We interviewed a number of people asking them questions about how they experience the chilling effect and their own experiences protesting in the UK. We wanted to to hear from other women and gender non conforming people to gain a better image of the emotional landscape that UK protestors find themselves in and in doing so, these voices and words helped inspire our own movement and choreography and the general tone of the film. This film is a show of solidarity and a call to arms for all people who have faced the difficulties of protesting in todays world.
These voices are layered over a carefully thought out electronic mix with the sound coming after the movement which means that the music is inspired by our choreography and how our bodies are showcased. Scary Em has linked the abstract world of BOUND to a physical, embodied and emotional world using his own remixed voice and breath as well as the voices of everyone we interviewed adding another layer of physicality.
